More manufacturing progress
about 6 years ago – Thu, Mar 01, 2018 at 10:06:14 PM

Printing of the paper and card components is under way. The manufacturer has made some samples that are now winging their way to us for approval, but sent over a couple of photos for us to share here.

We thought you might appreciate one of the shots being the summary card for the special personnel minis…

A quick progress report
about 6 years ago – Wed, Feb 07, 2018 at 04:38:47 PM

We thought you might appreciate a quick update on where we are with the Great War Centenary Edition and the French Army Expansion.

The miniatures have been approved and moulding is under way; this is the most time-consuming part of the production process so we’re pleased that we’ve signed off on this. The photos below show the master minis the manufacturer created using a wax mould, which in turn was used to create the metal tools for plastic injection moulding.

We’re also in the process of signing off on the paper and card components; Chinese factories close down for Chinese New Year at this time of year, but we’re well on the way to getting everything approved for final production.

The new French tanks are making progress too (moving a bit faster than the Schneider tank’s 5 mph!). We’re currently discussing with the manufacturer the best plastic to use for the barrels to prevent breakage and the best packaging to safely hold the tanks in their boxes.

We’ll update again when there’s more progress to share.

We're getting ready to charge your BackerKit payments
over 6 years ago – Fri, Jan 26, 2018 at 11:04:48 PM

This is just a quick reminder to everyone to say that we're intending to charge your cards for BackerKit payments in early February.

This means that you won't be able to make further changes to your BackerKit add-ons once your card has been charged - so if you'd like to add anything else to your order, please do so in the next week.

After we've charged your card, you will still be able to update your shipping address in BackerKit, should you move between now and the shipping date.

If you're one of the handful of backers who hasn't yet filled out your BackerKit survey to pay for shipping and make any optional purchases you'd like to add, there's still time! If you've lost your survey (or it has been eaten by your junk mail folder), you can visit BackerKit's lost survey page to get it resent to you.

Our latest KS campaign: Ian Brody's SHAEF
over 6 years ago – Mon, Jan 22, 2018 at 10:08:48 PM

We've just launched our latest Kickstarter campaign and figured that some of you might be interested in it...

SHAEF is a two-player, card-driven World War II strategy game covering the period from June 1944 to March 1945. It covers the war in Western Europe from D-Day to the Allied advance over the River Rhine, and is designed by Ian Brody (well known for his Quartermaster General series of games).

The game box includes the rulebook, the game board, 2 ten-sided dice, 360 cards (illustrated with historically-themed photographs), 2 player mats, 2 player aid cards, die-cut counter sheets, and plastic stands for the on-board armies.

For the first 72 hours of the campaign, there's a special Early Bird price.

Incoming! Pledge manager surveys are imminent
over 6 years ago – Tue, Jan 02, 2018 at 10:53:14 PM

The troops stand in line. The officers toy nervously with their whistles and check their watches for the fourth time this minute. Bottles of rum are passed down the line. And then passed back again. Bayonets are fixed on command. Yes, we’re about to go Over The Top!

You’ll be receiving an email in the next few days from BackerKit, our pledge manager. This will confirm your pledge level and the amount you have paid so far via Kickstarter. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

Using the survey, you will be able to:

  • Choose your language edition for The Great War Centenary Edition/French Army Expansion/Tank Expansion.
  • Add and pay for any optional-buys you wish to purchase (this is where you can choose more French tanks and the larger cards, for example).
  • Confirm your shipping address and pay for shipping.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page.

If you’ve not received an emailed survey in the next few days, please check your junk mail/spam folder. If the email is not there, please contact us and we will look into it for you.
